1. NOSAMS Graduate Student Internship Program

Two internships will be awarded this year to U.S. graduate students for research at the NOSAMS radiocarbon facility at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. The internships should involve application of radiocarbon measurements to an important oceanographic research problem and/or development of new techniques for radiocarbon measurement and will provide 2 to 6 weeks at NOSAMS. Available funds will cover all analytical costs (for a modest number of analyses), round-trip travel, accommodation and subsistence while in Woods Hole, but not field work and sampling.

4. Faculty Position in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering

Through support from the Institute of Natural Gas Research (INGaR), the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering (EME) at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for one (1) full-time, tenure-track faculty position in petroleum and natural gas engineering at Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. 5. Postdoctoral Fellow, Groundwater Ecohydrology

The Desert Research Institute's (DRI's) Division of Hydrologic Sciences is accepting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow in Groundwater Ecohydrology. This position is located in DRI’s Northern Nevada Science Center in Reno, NV and is intended to integrate ongoing research endeavors in DRI's Divisions and multi-disciplinary Centers, and will complement cross-disciplinary programs with emphasis on groundwater hydrology and aquatic ecology.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

? Ph.D. with a focus on hydrogeology, aquatic ecology, or a related field from an accredited institution

Collaborative Research: Long Term Sublimation/Preservation of Two Separate, Buried Glacier Ice Masses, Ong Valley, Southern Transantarctic Mountains; Jaakko Putkonen: University of North Dakota, Daniel Morgan: Vanderbilt University, and Greg Balco: Berkeley Geochronology Center.
